What does VPI online course offer?

Vanity Projects Institute offers two hybrid online courses based on the level of students’ nail art skills. Beginner’s Level is open for everyone including hobbyists and those who are new to the practice. Intermediate Level requires previous experience; students need to submit their work to apply for this course. Both courses feature high quality pre-recorded class videos and detailed handouts for each class. In addition, Beginner’s Level students will have a live group Q&A session with our world renowned nail art instructor, and Intermediate Level students will have an exclusive one-on-one feedback session with her.

Do I need prior nail art experience?

Prior experience is NOT required for the Beginner’s Level Course, but it is required for the Intermediate Level. A nail technician license is NOT required for any courses.

How do I enroll and register?

Registration is easy. Simply fill out the application form, add the course to your cart, then checkout and pay. You will receive a confirmation email with access to the course once the payment goes through. [Please note that the course will be available in April.] To apply for the Intermediate Level Course, you will need to upload your nail art portfolio upon check out (via link to a personal website, google folder, or dropbox folder).


What are the technical requirements for VPI online courses?

All online courses require an internet connection. VPI online courses are offered through Canvas software, a web-based learning system. It is recommended that students have access to a video recording device for the homework and test, you will be asked to upload photos and videos to be graded for the course.

What do I do if I need technical assistance?

How do I get access to the class materials?

Once you complete the course registration, you will receive a confirmation email with a login link and code. Simply follow the instructions in the email and you will have access to the course content. Please contact us if you encounter any difficulties.

How long do I have access to the class materials?

Once registered for a course, students will have access to the class materials for 14 days. Although the course takes 7 days to finish, we give students longer access in case of kit shipping delays, academic difficulties, unexpected schedule conflict for live sessions, etc.

What equipment is required for the course?

The kits are not required but highly recommended. The Core Kit and Recommended Kit for the courses contain the gel colors and brushes used by the instructor in the course videos, you will have a better learning experience with the proper tools.

How can I get an equipment kit?

A purchase link and a coupon code will be available prior to the course start date in April. Please note that you will only receive the link and the code after the tuition is paid in full. VPI offers a 17% discount for our students.

What if my kit is late?

Please contact us if you haven’t received your kit 5 days after your purchase.


How much does VPI online classes cost?

Tuition for Beginner’s Level Course is $380, and for Intermediate Level Course is $500. Kits are purchased separately.

When do I have to pay?

Tuition is required to be paid in full when you register for a course. Registration will be finalized once the payment is complete.

Will I get a refund if I drop the class?

No. The tuition and the kit fee are non-refundable.

What are acceptable payment methods?

We accept all major credit cards including VISA, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.


What materials are available online?

For Beginner’s Level Course, students will have access to: - Five high quality class videos; - Five PDF handouts for each class video detailing the key points. After you finish the materials above, you will be scheduled to an online group Q&A session with the instructor. For Intermediate Level Course, students will have access to: - Five high quality class videos; - Five PDF handouts for each class video detailing the key points. After you finish the materials above, you will be asked to upload your final test. You will then be scheduled to an exclusive one-on-one session with the instructor to discuss your work.

Do I have to do exams and assignments?

You will find homework items in each PDF handout, and a final test in the last handout. The instructions for uploading your work will be specified upon enrollment.

What do I do if I have questions about an assignment?

You may leave a message on Canvas or send an email to the instructor if you have questions and comments for the course.

Can I change the language setting on Canvas?

Yes. Canvas has more than 33 different languages for the interface and closed caption for the video content. International students are welcome to apply!


What kind of certification do I get after finishing the course?

You will receive the Vanity Projects Institute diploma upon completing the course.
